Soooo its New Year's Eve and everyone is having a great time!!! It was sometime before 9:00 and I had started handing out New Year's hats, I had given about everyone one except David and I could not find him anywhere, I asked Cindy and Sonya if they had seen him and Cindy automatically changed the subject and asked what I wanted to do about food or something along those lines. I knew then something was up! Then, I walked around the corner and in comes David followed by my parents, my brother, David's parents and Stephen and Ginni... that's when I really knew something was getting ready to happen.

I could not think to save my life! I did not know what to do but stare at David. I eventually walked over to our families and said hello and asked if they wanted anything to eat or drink. Then, David walked up to me and my mind just completely blanks out. He took my hands and told everyone he loved them and me and Madison and then he said "You asked me to do a couple of things before I proposed to you, you said I had to ask your father if I could marry you and I did and he said yes, you said I had to make you cry and you're not, you said I had to buy you a ring (he open the ring box) and you said I had to get down on one knee (he got down on one knee) and he asked if I would marry him. My brain is still blank at this point after what seems forever I realized... oh I am supposed to say something here and I said awwwe baby Yes!!! I still cannot believe that I am engaged to this wonderful, amazing, and smart man. I have been truly blessed.

Date - 12/31/11

Time - 8:45

Place - Kristy and David's Place

I thought for sure asking Kristy's father if I could marry his only daughter was the most nervous that I would ever be in my life. And at that time... I was correct. But very little did I know. A few days later, knowing that I was about to ask his daughter the single most important question of my life, had me more nervous than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Our place was packed beyond fire code with family and friends for our first annual New Year's Eve party. We had about 30 of our friends and everyone knew what was happening except for my very soon to be fiancée Kristy. Her New Year's party was about to turn into her engagement party!

At 8:55, I snuck out to sneak both of our families inside. Kristy's Mom, Dad, and Brother and my Mom, Dad, Brother, and Sisters were all there! The second that Madison saw her Nana, she immediately ran screaming and yelling towards her. At that moment I saw Kristy's gorgeous eyes from across the room. She was giving me that look I have seen and learned to love so much. The look of I don't know what's going on and I'm about to kill you all at the same time. That's when the butterflies really kicked in.

After a minute or so of nervously chatting and walking around, I went for my wife to be. I took Kristy by the hands and gave her the last kiss that she would have before she was engaged. Actually, (after watching the video) the last four or five kisses she would get before our engagement. Once again, I nervously fumbled around for the right words to say... I'm not exactly sure what came out at the time. I had thought of all kinds of things to say prior to actually being there. All I really remember was telling her that I love her and Madison more than anyone or anything. And that is the truth. So without any more waiting... I got down on one knee and asked Kristy if she would marry me. I'm not sure how long it was or what exactly was said... But when Kristy finally realized that it was not a dream and that it had actually just happened... I do remember exactly what she said...

Awwwe baby... YES!!!!
